CSWPL PREMIER Bovey Tracey 1 Newquay 0 Star man: Dan Taylor (Bovey Tracey) THE home team, who hadn't won in their last four games played host to a Newquay side just two points above them. Bovey were on top in the early stages as Jarred Lewington and Sam Dicken were unlucky to see their shots fly just over the bar. A lick of paint is what stopped Bovey from breaking the deadlock after half an hour when Sam Dicken could only watch his twenty five yard effort hit the post. The hosts had a big chance just before half time as Ryan Stanbridge headed a free kick over the bar to the relief of the Newquay supporters. In the second half Jarred Lewington was denied his fourth goal of the season after a fantastic save from the travelling keeper kept him at bay. The only goal of the game came with twenty minutes to go when Bovey Tracey sub Stuart Bowker rounded the Newquay keeper and placed the ball into the back of an empty net. CSWPL DIVISION ONE EAST Liverton Utd 1 Budleigh Salterton 5 Star man: Matt Dawson (Budleigh Salterton) BUDLEIGH pulled into the driving seat early on as a double from Matt Dawson, including an unbelievable first put Budleigh into a firm lead. Liverton put some pressure on the Budleigh keeper only to be caught out twice on the counter attack first by Hugo Demetre and followed by Callum Shipton. Liverton came out for the second half on top and pulled one back from a Cameron Kelly rocket free kick. Jack Greenslay finished off the scoring for Budleigh Salterton after another counter attack to take the three points back to East Devon. Okehampton Argyle 2 Axminster Town 2 Star man: James Williams (Okehampton Argyle) OKEHAMPTON opened their account after just twelve minutes when James Williams converted into the roof of the net from six yards out after Steve Kinsey's shot was pushed onto the post by the visiting keeper. The home team then doubled their lead after twenty minutes when Gary Hird fired home from the edge of the box. Axminster pulled one back after twenty seven minutes after John Hurford hit a terrific drive from the edge of the box and the visitors were level a minute later after the home keeper spilled the ball for Ben Turner to tap in. The second half was an even contest which either team could have won and three great saves from the normally outfield Axminster keeper meant the points were shared. Stoke Gabriel 1 Exwick Villa 0 Star man: Olly Critchlow (Stoke Gabriel) THIRD in the table Stoke inflicted leaders Exwick Villa's second defeat of the season in a tight match in the South Hams. Stoke scored the only goal of the match when Olly Critchlow headed home a Dean Stevens free kick after Gary Fisher headed the ball across goal. The second half began with a lot of attacking pressure by Stoke with Dean Stevens hitting a few long range efforts wide. Stoke held on for the win in the end after a late onslaught on the home goal from Exwick and some smart saves from keeper Dom Aplin.
